The Halloween Whopper!

It's October! Which means everything Halloween! Including burgers. Burger King has come out with a seasonal "Halloween Whopper", which is basically the regular Whopper just on a black bun.

At first glance it doesn't look too appetizing, but once you take that first bite it'll send you on a delicious journey. This Whopper is also made with A1 steak sauce which is a pleasant surprise. The only thing I don't like about it is that the bun is very crumbly. That's probably because of the dye they had to use in it. Other than that I would totally recommend you go out and get yourself a Halloween Whopper before it's too late!

Caramel Apple Cupcakes

So I was casually strolling through my local grocer when I came across an isle dedicated to nothing but fall favorites. Of course there was your usual pumpkin spice everything, and there were some festive Halloween goodies too. But the thing that caught my eye was a box of Pillsbury's Caramel Apple Cake Mix and the frosting to go with it. I've never seen it before so I decided to pick up a box.

Since I've never had this flavor of cake or icing before, I tried them both sperately and together. I must say, it's one of of those dishes where you can't have one without the other. The caramel  apple icing compliments the cake so well! There's a nice apple aftertaste to it. The cake has somewhat of an apple taste, but it's more rich when it's combined with the icing. Next time I'm gonna try adding bits of Granny Smith Apple to the mix and see what happens. I would definitely add this to your list of fall desserts!

 Recipe:
  • 1C Water
  • 1/2C Oil
  • 3 Eggs
Directions:
  1. Set oven to 350. Coat bottom of pan with non stick cooking spray (or cupcake liners)
  2. Combine cake mix, water, oil, and eggs in large bowl; mix until well. Beat with mixer on medium for 2 minutes. Pour batter into pan.
  3. Bake at 350. For cupcakes, usually about 15-18 minutes. The box says 19-23 but if you leave them in for that long, they will get dry.
  4. Cool for 10-15 minutes before removing from pan. Cool cakes completely before frosting
